题目/Title：Ecocities in China: Towards a New Model for Sustainable Development?

内容简介/Abstract：

One of the major green moves China is being congratulated for by foreigners (the mass, the elite, and political leaders alike) is its recent initiative to develop and build ecocities. However, conundrums start to arise when the case of Chinese ecocities is looked at from a little closer. Intrigued by such a situation, and faced with obvious failures of eco-projects in China, the research that I propose to carry will look at three projects for ecocities in China: Tianjin, Qingdao, and Dongtan. As the proposal will explain, these three cases studies can be considered as epitomes of the singularities of ecocities in China.
