Topic: Analysis of Beijing Migrant Workers ' Willingness to Vaccination and Its Influencing Factors

Abstract:

Since 2003, the Beijing government has implemented a supplementary immunization activity (SIA) which provides free vaccination of measles and meningococcal polysaccharide to migrant workers who are at risk of being infected. However, little is known about the effect of this SIA aimed at migrant workers. This study examines the coverage of measles vaccine, meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine (MPV) supplemental immunization activity among migrant workers in Beijing, and influence factors associated with vaccination among migrant workers.

Topic: A study of demand in social services for elderly support and care in urban China

Abstract:

Although many economic and social factors at the macro level had heralded the demand for social services for the elderly will increase, our existing institutional arrangements lacks financial support and subsidy mechanism for the elderly to purchase social services. Furthermore, filial piety culture and statutory obligations of their children’s support may also make it easier for elderly obtain the necessary social care services. Do elderly Chinese need social care services? What factors influence their demand for social services? Drawing upon a large-scale survey with 10000 sample collected in 20 provinces, this study seek to better understand the demands in social services in elderly support and care in China from the following four aspects: predisposing characteristics, personal resource, family resource and social resource.
