Graduate Association The Handmade Leaf Sticker Activity Themed on "A Falling Leaf Heralds Autumn" of SSDPP Successfully Held

In order to make the students better experience the atmosphere of autumn and the beautiful campus of Beijing Normal University so as to promote the aesthetic education and enhance the students' ability to find and record beauty, SSDPP held a handmade leaf sticker activity themed on "a falling leaf heralds autumn" successfully in Rm.2030 of the Main Building on the evening of November 13, 2023.

At the beginning, we studied General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on youth art education. General Secretary Xi emphasized in his reply to senior professors of the Central Academy of Fine Arts that we must do a good job in aesthetic education and promote the spirit of Chinese aesthetic education so that the younger generation can grow up healthy both physically and mentally. Xi stressed that art education is an important part of aesthetic education and plays an important role in building a beautiful soul. To promote aesthetic education, we must adhere to moral education, take root in contemporary life, follow the characteristics of aesthetic education, promote the spirit of Chinese aesthetic education and enable the younger generation to grow up healthy both physically and mentally.

In the second session, the person in charge introduced the specific activity process to everyone, including activity supplies, limited production time, safety precautions, etc., guiding the students to create stickers using leaves based on their ideas and interests. Finally, the works were displayed and a vote of popularity was conducted.

After receiving scissors, cardboard and glue sticks, the participants began to create leaf stickers by using the fallen leaves they had collected. They chose leaves with appropriate shapes and colors carefully for cutting and pasting.

During the creation process, the students fully unleashed their imagination on cardboard. Through their ingenious creativity, the fallen leaves presented various exciting scenes.

After the creation activity, the students exchanged their ideas and shared the stories of their works, such as the Little Prince representing friendship and innocence, groups of cats representing warmness, the space shuttle targeting the starry sea, and the "treasure fallen leaves" preserved since last year. Finally, the students voted based on their preferences and selected the first, second, and third prizes.

After the activity, the participants took a group photo as a souvenir.

Through this event, the students have unleashed their imagination and initiative and enjoyed the fun of handcrafting during idle time. It has alleviated their daily learning pressure and provided sufficient motivation for better engagement in learning, work, and life in the future. After the activity, Xu Ruiying said, "In the busy learning life, I'm so glad to have got such an opportunity to make handicrafts, just like a period of time for me to relax when I was a little child."
