Our Student Present at Thematic Academic Seminar

From December 1st to 3rd, 2023, the 2023 Academic Meeting of the Behavioral and Health Psychology Committee of the Chinese Psychological Society and the Academic Seminar on Building a Healthy China under Socialist Modernization was held at the Yanta Campus of Shaanxi Normal University. The conference focused on academic discussions on digital interventions for mental health, various mechanisms of psychological disorders (depression, social anxiety), study on current situation of various problematic behaviors (eating disorders, suicide prevention, psychotic experiences) and effective intervention methods for alleviating psychological problems (mindfulness therapy, Balint group work model, cognitive behavioral therapy focused on traumatic emergency disorders), etc. Nearly 200 domestic and foreign experts, scholars and frontline educators participated in the event.

Zhao Mengzhen, a SWM student who enrolled at SSDPP in 2023, was present at the event and delivered a report titled "Intervention in the Treatment of Substance and Behavioral Addiction in Adolescents Based on Motivational Interviewing from Social Systems Theory Perspective". This study focuses on different systemic causes of adolescent drug addiction and behavioral addiction, the current situation of the application of motivational interviews in multiple systems and motivational interviews in China, as well as the relevant advice, providing a theoretical basis and relevant suggestions for motivational interviews to promote effective and individualized change-oriented conversations based on the staged characteristics of different addictive behavior states and the multiple systemic influencing factors that lead to addictive behavior, sparking positive interaction among relevant experts and students at the meeting. The attending experts exchanged ideas on key issues in the research, providing important guidance for future improvement.
