China Publishes 2012 Report on Children's Needs in Charity Work

　　 The 2012 Report on Chinese Children's Needs in Charity Work was published jointly by the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and the School of Social Development and Public Policy (SSDPP) at Beijing Normal University in Beijing on October 30, 2012. 

The report, which covers existing studies on children's special needs conducted by 45 professional institutes from 13 provinces across the country, aims to provide policy-makers from relevant charity organizations with guidance in their future projects, and raise public awareness of children's special needs, especially those of underprivileged children. 

Vice President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and Vice Chairwoman of CCTF, Zhao Donghua made a speech in the ceremony in which she said that the population of Chinese children aged below 14 has reached 22 million this year, accounting for 16.6 percent of the country's total population, and that the newly published report is thus of great significance to their healthy development. 

The report has also put forth new theories in children's charity affairs, such as vertical and horizontal perspectives, which are believed to be good for children's all-round growth, and is expected to help relevant governmental departments introduce applicable policies to benefit more underprivileged children under the current social circumstances.
