Photography contest with "perceive society" as the theme is a distinctive feature of our student activities. It is designed to enrich the leisure life of our teachers and students and, closely linked with our academic content and characteristics, encourage the participants to pay attention to and perceive society from diverse perspectives. So far, the photography contest has been successfully held for three times, highly praised by the teachers and students. On the basis of former theme of "perceive society", this photography contest is themed "perceive society and record wonderful moments".

With strong support from SSDPP's faculty and students, this photography contest has received a total of more than 20 copies of works and over 40 photos. After voting by the Graduate Student Union and the masses, including the MPA students, postgraduates and overseas students, the winner list was finally announced. The following are some of the award-winning works:

First prize –winning works:

Pi Xingcan, "Curiosity"

Description: Perhaps poverty blocks their contact with the outside world, but they are still curious about the world. When we passed the village, some of them stopped playing the homemade toys, some stretched out their little heads behind the wall and looked at us curiously. They must be thinking: "What on earth are these big brothers and big sisters doing?"

Second prize –winning works:

Sun Jian

Description: The outside world is exciting and silent. The classroom is so quiet but the life here is wonderful.  In the sunshine, we see children's innocent faces and preschool teachers' beautiful smiles. Against the glass, we see a longing soul and a simple hall. In my eyes, it is beautiful because hope has turned it into a paradise full of love. -- First visit of SSDPP's 2012 students to the kindergarten for migrants' children

Huang Shan  "Farewell"

Description: Not far from Hezuo City of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the orphan school was founded by a local living Buddha. We only stayed there for one hour and gave the children some daily necessities, dictionaries, stationery and lollipops as gifts. Dozens of children followed us to the school gate, waving their hands and said loudly together: "Thank you, thank you, thank you …". With eyes full of tears, we left them. We cannot imagine how the education-supporting teachers who stayed there for two years say goodbye to these children. Bless them!
