To meet the needs of large-scale education and training of social workers, further improve the social work training system and strengthen the team building for social work, in February 2013, the Ministry of Civil Affairs issued the "Notice on the Selection of Professional Social Work Training Bases".

From April 24 to 26, 2013, after a rigorous assessment by experts on the respondent review meeting of the training base, Beijing Normal University and other 37 units were identified as the first batch of professional social work training bases by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and a professional social worker training base was set up in Beijing Normal University. It fully affirmed the social work education and training capacity and quality of our university, marking our social work education and training entered into a new stage of development.
