Our Students Present at the 18th International Forum on Social Policy

The 18th International Forum on Social Policy, jointly organized by the Professional Committee for Social Policy Research of the Chinese Sociological Association, the Institute of Sociology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and East China University of Science and Technology, was held at East China University of Science and Technology from November 25th to 26th, 2023.

The event is divided into three parts, namely, keynote reports, sub-forums, and lectures. Many international and domestic well-known experts and scholars from the United States, Britain, Japan, Australia, Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong of PRC, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, and Institute of Sociology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences delivered keynote reports. The participants conducted heated discussions on the theme of "Social Policy from the Perspective of Comparative Modernization: Development, Innovation and Reflection", focusing on cutting-edge theories of social policy, responding to new issues, demands, and related policy issues in social policy reform and practice, which is of great significance for promoting the development of China's social policy theory and practice, and building a global knowledge system of social policy.

Our doctoral student La Yuanyuan, who was enrolled at SSDPP in 2022, participated in the forum and conducted an academic presentation titled "Research on the Evolution and Development of China's Patriotic Health Movement Policy from the Perspective of Policy Instruments" at the graduate sub-forum. It studies the changes in policy objectives and instruments of the patriotic health movement at different policy stages from the perspective of policy instruments, which has theoretical and practical significance for improving the overall effectiveness of policies. The experts from the sub-forum affirmed the practical significance of the topic selection and research issues, and put forward constructive suggestions for the improvement of the article.
