We should make trip further while reading a lot. In the summer of 2023, Dai Wenjun, Xu Shuge and Wang Yazi, three postgraduates majoring in public management at SSDPP successfully participated in the Oxford Prospects Programmes, completing an international journey full of academic and cultural charm.

Organized by the Oxford Prospects and Global Development Institute (OPGDI), the event aims to design interdisciplinary academic visiting programs for outstanding students from partner universities. During the two-week study visit, the students experienced the strong cultural heritage and excellent academic atmosphere of Oxford University. This program not only attracts many outstanding students to visit Oxford University in the UK, but also encourages students to apply for various courses at Oxford University so as to lay a solid foundation for future academic and career development.

The course content covers the fields of politics, economy, philosophy, and law (PPEL). From multiple perspectives and complementary academic directions, the courses guide students to deeply understand social phenomena, explore a series of themes such as decision-making, market economy and social order, and continue their in-depth study in the course of listening to lectures, practical experience, and communication with each other.

The courses are in various forms, such as academic practice workshops, aiming to cultivate students' critical thinking and research skills and clarify their academic and career planning. In addition, the activities such as roundtable forums and film production workshops with Oxford students and alumni also provide students with good opportunities for communication and learning. At the end of our study trip, all the students made comprehensive personal reports in detail on their learning over the past half month, reflecting on their learning and thinking during that period.

The Oxford Prospects Programmes in this summer, have deepened the participants' diverse understanding of Oxford University and British culture, enhanced their academic literacy and global perspective, and opened a window to link diverse cultures and ideas.
