Shining Stars Pan Li - Move forward with gratitude

Pan Li, CPC Member, Han nationality, is a student of the 2021 MSW at SSDPP and won the National Scholarship in 2022.

During the postgraduate period, Pan Li actively participated in academic research projects under the guidance of her tutor, and successively participated in SSDPP's 2021 research funding project presided over by her tutor, covering literature retrieval, field survey and discussion of research results, and the research project of "Study on Innovation of Sanya Grassroots Social Governance in the Context of Free Trade Port Construction", covering literature retrieval, questionnaire design, etc. She also served as a key member of the research group for "Study on the Mode of Revitalizing Rural Public Value by Social Work Station in the New Era", which is a national social science foundation project in the charge of her tutor.

In order to gain a clear understanding of the research topic and further tap the professional value, she and her teammates went to Changsha of Hunan Province to conduct a 15-day field survey of the social work station. She interviewed the social workers and the head of the social work station, sorted out the interview data, summarized the operation mode of the social work station, and collected more than 200,000 words of interview data in total. Her papers won the second prize in the "13th China Social Work College Student Forum and the 6th China Social Work Graduate Forum" sponsored by China Association for Social Work Education and National Steering Committee for Postgraduate Education in Social Work, and was finally published in the journal "Social Work and Management". In addition, she has taken an active part in various campus activities: Thanks to the platform provided by SSDPP, she participated in the "Policy and Project Effect Evaluation: Lectures on Treatment of Bias and PSM" and the Meta trainings to increase professional knowledge, took part in the social work + student work project, set up a team to build social workshops, and provided services to students in the park. She served as the assistant manager of Huitong Academy at Beijing Normal University, assisted the teachers in handling academy and student affairs, analyzed student employment and enrollment questionnaires and wrote a report. She participated in the "Celebration of the 120th Anniversary of Beijing Normal University and Urging the Youth to Forge Ahead", a special winter vacation social practice activity sponsored by Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus Committee of the Communist Youth League, and her individual project was rated as excellent. The colorful campus activities have enriched her study life. She often develops planning for team work and discusses problems with her teammates late at night, which makes her have a better understanding of herself and gives her the strength to move forward.

As a student majoring in social work, she attempts to find the value of her major in practice. From June to September 2022, she served as the project assistant of the Network Crowdfunding Department of the China Social Assistance Foundation, took part in the operation of Tencent public welfare platform, Sina micro public welfare, JD public welfare store, ByteDance public welfare, Shuidi public welfare, etc., and participated in the launch of public welfare projects, budget review, project progress update, review of recipients' data, public welfare bill sorting, etc. She is responsible for contacting, communicating and signing project contracts with NPOs, assisting in reviewing the financial statements of relevant projects and closing projects, and assisting in sorting out relevant system documents of the Foundation. During the internship, she always kept her enthusiasm for exploration, took the initiative to understand the fund raising strategy and project operation mode of the Foundation, and attempted to explore and use professional knowledge in practice to enhance her professional practice ability.

The guidance and encouragement of her teachers, the help and support of her classmates and friends, and her strict requirements for self-improvement constitute the driving force of her progress. Pan Li will continue to work hard, uphold her professional identity as a social worker, improve her professional skills and devote herself to practice, striving to make rapid progress by combining scientific research with field survey.
