Lecture for Young Teachers Successfully Held by SSDPP's 2019 and 2020 Doctoral League Branches and Academic Counseling Rooms



To enhance the academic atmosphere of SSDPP, strengthen the communication between teachers and students, and improve the academic research ability of doctoral students, the 2019 and 2020 doctoral league branches and academic counseling rooms jointly held the Lecture for Young Teachers with the theme of "study on the relationship between childbearing age and human capital of offspring" on the afternoon of June 2, 2021. Gao Jiamin, a young teacher of SSDPP was invited to attend the event.

Before the lecture, Teacher Xu Xiaoxin introduced Gao Jiamin's personal information and academic achievements to the students. Gao Jiamin is a young teacher of SSDPP. Her main research fields are population development and social policy, population health and social security, elderly problems and social welfare policy. She has had a number of high-level papers printed in core journals at home and abroad, with rich scientific research achievements. The lecture coincided with the introduction of the "three-child policy". First of all, Gao Jiamin had a simple exchange on the students' fertility intention and reasons after the introduction to the "three-child policy", and then introduced the research topic of childbearing age. Gao delivered an easy-to-understand speech on the proposal of research issue, literature review, research results and discussion. At the same time, she exchanged the method application and personal experience in the topic selection, literature review and data analysis, which enriched the students' understanding of the issue and provided experience for the students to carry out their own research.

In the final link of discussion, the students also took the initiative to raise some questions. Xin Yujia, a 2019 doctoral student, asked the teacher about the explanation of some research results, the selection of control variables and the policy implications. Shang Hui, a 2020 doctoral student, asked the teacher about how to carry out research topics and how to expand other related studies on the basis of existing research. Gao Jiamin answered them very enthusiastically. Finally, the students took a group photo with the teacher. Many students expressed the hope that more similar academic activities could be carried out in the future to help expand their scientific research vision and improve their scientific research ability.
