You Are the Best of Luck I Want to Keep- SSDPP's 2019 Winter Party Held Successfully



Coldness adds a magic color to the winter of Beijing Normal University. A group of young people from SSDPP wanted to create unique warmth for this big family in winter. To promote the communication and exchange among students of all grades and further improve the students' sense of identity and belonging to this extended family, SSDPP held the 2019 Winter Party with the theme of "YIJIU Dreamers" for all the staff and students on December 15.

The activity not only invited many teachers such as Qiao Dongping, Li Haiyan, Zhang Ranran, Zhang Qiannan and Tang Xiaofeng, but also attracted postgraduates and doctoral students from various grades and departments. At 3:30 p.m. on December 15, we got together to enjoy this unique and wonderful afternoon. The event was divided into two parts: "Happy to Meet in Our Lifetime" and "Move Forward Hand in Hand in 2020", covering not only the reality but also the future, giving us joy and thinking.  After the announcement by the Dr. Xu Mengnan and MSW student Wang Ruoxi, who were enrolled in 2018, the party officially started.

Happy to Meet in Our Lifetime

First of all, Shi Tianqiong, a master student enrolled in 2019, and Gao Yijin, a master student enrolled in 2019 from the School of Philosophy, sang the song "You Were A Teenager", expressing our deep love for our youth. 

Then, He Lei sang a classic song "Aurora", which perfectly outlines a colorful world of "red, orange, yellow, green and blue". There is light in his eyes and love in the song. The song presents a beautiful world and a bright future. 

Now, it is the exciting game time. We played two games: "chicken pecking rice" and "0.5 Yuan and 1 yuan". "3.5 yuan", "2 yuan"... With the host's instructions, we quickly formed a team and strived to win. We laughed and had great fun. The two games greatly tested the students' sense of unity and cooperation, and realized the "ice breaking" among the unfamiliar students.

After the games, the preparatory group got tea and delicious refreshments ready for us. The students enjoyed delicious food and exchanged their latest outcomes and confusion. In the laughter, we felt the warmth of SSDPP as a big family. 

Move Forward Hand in Hand in 2020

The second part: Move Forward Hand in Hand in 2020. First of all, MPA students Liu Si and Yang Jiayue, who were enrolled in 2019, put on a song and dance performance: "happiness before the end of the term is in this party". It vividly shows the students' intense study life. The final exam is a challenge and a chance for self-improvement. After several terms, I believe, we'll all become more hardworking and more capable.

"You are the best of luck I want to keep". The song "Little Luck" sung by Shi Tianqiong and Chen Zheng, two master students enrolled in 2019, presents a moving story of our meeting and friendship at SSDPP. The graceful melody enhanced the sense of belonging of all the students.

"Just call me!" This interactive link carefully prepared by the preparatory group mobilized the enthusiasm of the students to participate. We were attentive, nervous and expectant, and dialed the phone number on the screen again and again, expecting to become the "lucky dog" of the big family of SSDPP. 

"Because we are a family and a loving family…" "A loving family" sung by 2019 MPA Class sounds particularly moving. At this moment, we smiled and hugged each other, recalled what we've experienced over the years, and appreciated the peace of the present. No matter how many frustrations we will experience, we believe, we'll always be a loving family.

At the climax of the event, Teacher Qiao Dongping selected the lucky dog of the whole activity. Unexpectedly, this lucky dog was Chen Zheng, a member of the event preparation group. He said thanks to the teachers and students and expressed his expectation for a bright future of SSDPP. Then, Chen Zheng and Teacher Tang Xiaofeng improvised for everyone, which which once again set off a small climax for the activity.

Finally, we entered the link of "secret time" - group dance. We invited all the participants to get involved to release their pressure. "Left, left, right, right, go, turn round, go, go, go!" With the music rhythm, everyone danced happily.

On this afternoon, we were laughing and thinking. We talked about  poetry and ode as well as the philosophy of life. We hugged and encouraged each other. We bid farewell to the past and greeted the future with smile.

The Winter Party is designed, I believe, not only to talk about the world and pursue fun, but also to make everyone at SSDPP feel the warmth and encouragement of the big family with the help of such a form.

This is the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020. Sharing the stars in the same boat, we are all dream seekers. I sincerely hope that everyone here will not forget his original intention, forge ahead and become a brave dreamer of SSDPP.
