SSDPP delegation attended the 13th Annual Conference of Harvard China Review

 

A SSDPP delegation made up of Deputy Dean Zhang Qiang, Faculty members Wang Xinsong, Shang Lifuand Dean of One Foundation Philanthropy Research Institute at BNU Wang Zhenyaoattended the 13th Annual Conferenceof Harvard China Review held at Harvard University in April 2010. The theme of the meeting is “PRC after Sixty”. The goal of the meeting is to take closer examination of the past, present, and future of China as the nation just celebrated her 60th anniversary in 2009.

 

SSDPP Deputy Dean Zhang Qiang chaired a sub forum while Prof. Wang Zhenyao delivered a presentation on the theme Reality and Future of Philanthropy in Chinain the Non-profit sub forum. The presentation was warmly responded by participants.

 

Harvard China Forum (HCF) was founded by a group of China-focused Harvard students in 1998. In the beginning, the forum was the annual meeting for the renowned journal publication, "Harvard China Review,” and in 2010 it became an independent entity under the name Harvard College China Forum. Now, as North America's leading student forum regarding China, Harvard China Forum holds a conference each spring at Harvard University, focusing on opportunities and challenges that China faces.

 

A series of Chinese celebrities from the private and public sectors also attended the forum, including CEO and founder of Phoenix TV Liu Changle, former managing director of Goldman Sachs Asia Hu Zuliu,chairman of Vantone Feng Lun and chairman of Horizon Research Consultancy Group Yuan Yue.
