SSDPP held the First of Its UN Seminar Series

On November 23, 2012, Dr. Romulo Paes de Sousa, former Vice Minister for Social Development of Brazil gave a talk on Health & Equity-An Investigation and Comparison Among the Health Systems of Development Nations at SSDPP.

Representatives from UN China Office, World Health Organization, The United Nations Children’s Fund, United Nations Population Fund attended the seminar. SSDPP faculty Prof. Hu Xiaojiang Prof. Wang Xinsong, Prof. Tian Donghua, Prof. Sha Zhihong and Prof. Tian Fangmeng attended the meeting and exchanged their ideas and views with the presenter and other guests.

Dr. Romulo Paes de Sousa has had a distinguished career as a policymaker in Brazil and has made some important contributions to academic debates around health inequalities, social development and social policy monitoring and evaluation in Brazil.

The UN Seminar Series, organized by SSDPP’s China Institute of Health, will have more distinguished scholars and practitioners as presenters to the school to share their views and experience with SSDPP faculty and students in future.
