About the Program:

As the corporate sector continues to play an increasingly important role in social development, the influence of enterprise now extends beyond national boundaries. As a result, business professionals must have a global perspective in order to better understand social development trends and needs, especially the social development conditions in developing countries and emerging markets. China’s development experience is irreplaceable in its general significance worldwide; accordingly, the development of corporate social responsibility in China can provide the world with rich examples and valuable references.

The English language Master’s Program in China Development Study on Corporate Social Responsibility (CDCSR) at the School of Social Development and Public Policy (SSDPP) is designed for those in the international community already working in this field with the purpose of improving students’ cross-cultural understanding of corporate social responsibility in order to foster future leaders, decision makers, professionals and activists that are better able to address the issue of corporate social responsibility from the perspective of social development.

Corporate social responsibility covers a wide range of disciplines and themes. The program is committed to an interdisciplinary approach with a P+B+S model, combining the comparative advantages of the school of public policy (P), the business school (B) and the school of social development (S) in order to develop innovative and versatile talents.

In addition to course work, the degree program also includes study tours, case study discussions, academic exchanges and other methods to help students develop analytical skills in the field as well as the ability to apply research methods. All courses are taught in English by top Chinese and foreign scholars from fields relevant to corporate social responsibility.
